In 2025, Derek Merritt set out on a mission: to build something of his own, for his family and his community. After completing professional training through the School of Asphalt Kingdom, Derek took a leap of faith and launched Asphalt Maintenance Solutions, LLC — a locally owned company with big dreams and a personal purpose.
With three young children as his inspiration, Derek wanted to create a business that gave him both the freedom to be present with his family and the opportunity to make a positive impact across West Virginia. His roots run deep in the Mountain State, and giving back to local families and businesses is at the heart of everything he does.
From residential driveways to large commercial properties, Derek approaches every project with professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to quality. His goal is simple: to grow Asphalt Maintenance Solutions into a trusted name across West Virginia — and one day, beyond — offering complete pavement care and exceptional service every step of the way.
